Hot dogs are a summer comfort food centered around bbq’s, family gatherings, and quick and easy meals. Over the years, hot dog creations have become more popular, funky, and even more delicious than the classic ketchup, mustard, and dog. They can be boiled, barbecued, fried, wrapped in bacon--you name it--it’s probably been put on a hot dog. But is a hot dog considered a sandwich? According to Webster’s dictionary, a sandwich is “two or more slices of bread, or a split roll having a filling in between.” Sound familiar? By popular opinion a hot dog is it’s own entity on the food chain, but from the definition above it sounds kind of like a sandwich… Whatever it may be, there is one thing for certain, hot dogs are delicious!
