Hot Dogs: What is the best way to eat one?!

Hot dogs are a summer comfort food centered around bbq’s, family gatherings, and quick and easy meals. Over the years, hot dog creations have become more popular, funky, and even more delicious than the classic ketchup, mustard, and dog. They can be boiled, barbecued, fried, wrapped in bacon--you name it--it’s probably been put on a hot dog. But is a hot dog considered a sandwich? According to Webster’s dictionary, a sandwich is “two or more slices of bread, or a split roll having a filling in between.” Sound familiar? By popular opinion a hot dog is it’s own entity on the food chain, but from the definition above it sounds kind of like a sandwich… Whatever it may be, there is one thing for certain, hot dogs are delicious!

Check out these simple and crazy concoctions that elevate one of our favorite classic comfort foods to the next level of flavor!

New York Dog - mustard, sauerkraut, onion sauce

Seattle Dog - bratwurst, cream cheese, jalapeno, chopped cabbage, and sriracha

Dodger Dog - foot long dog, ketchup, mustard, chopped onion, and relish

Chili Cheese Dog - chili, shredded cheddar, onion

Coney Island Dog - chili sauce, chopped red onion, and a squiggle of yellow mustard

Chicago Style -  yellow mustard, sweet green pickle relish, onion, tomato wedges, pickle spear, sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt

As for our Sequoia style hot dog, we aren’t the classic type. So we came up with something a little different…

Sequoia Dog - ketchup on one side, mustard on the other side, cheddar cheese, potato chips of your choice, jalapenos

The combination of sweet, spicy, and crunchy makes for the perfect representation of us. We are sweet in that we love making our residents, customers, and employees the happiest they can be. The spiciness corresponds with our team members, who are always up for a challenge. As for the crunchy, that stands for our team members crushing everything that comes their way! Bon appetit!
