Having a hard time fitting it all in a day?
We were, too. Until we discovered 'time blocking'. After reading a stellar article on time management from The Skinny Confidential Blog, we learned how to incorporate a little gadget called a Time Blocking Cube into our day to day.
Do you ever find yourself trying to multitask?
Well, in theory, it screams efficiency. But the reality is that sometimes it takes you LONGER to complete ten things at once then it would do dedicate a specific tunnel vision time frame to complete ONE THING.
Ultimately, the cube is THE tool to help you make better choices in terms of priority, time required to complete the task, and most importantly-- determine how much time you actually HAVE to do these things.
You can use it for emails, brainstorming, or switching from right to left brain activities through out your day.
When your time is up, it's up. Move on to another task.
According to The Skinny Confidential's article, “A to-do list is important, but it is not sufficient. You need to prioritize tasks based on importance and then schedule adequate time for them on a personal calendar. This is called time blocking. You are blocking time on your schedule for those activities you intend to accomplish. It is a simple but powerful technique.”
And the cube, with 5, 15, 30 and 60 minute increments, is up for the job.
Simply flip, set, and go.
Plus, it's super cute.
