Our story began.
1986
Expanded into Southern California - La Jolla Village Apartments.
1992
Expanded into Sacramento - The Fairways Apartments.
1993
Expanded into Colorado - Parliament Apartments.
1998
Mark Carter became the sole owner of Sequoia, serving as President and CEO.
2004
Launched the “Experience Sequoia” rebrand.
2007
Introduced the Purpose Program.
2008
Introduced the S-Club Resident Program.
2011
Expanded into Washington - Slate Ridge Apartments.
2011
Expanded into Oregon - Center Pointe Apartments.
2012
Introduced PAWS program and removed pet weight limits.
2012
Launched the “Elevate to Sequoia” rebrand.
2016
Bill Brooks named CEO.
2018
Melinda Pederson named CFO
2020
Formed the Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity (DIBE) Task Force.
2020
Introduced Sequoia Scholarships for team member dependents.
2022
Lifted breed restrictions across most Sequoia communities.
2024
Today, Sequoia manages nearly 14,000 apartment homes across five states.
