Sequoia Announced as NAA Best Places to Work Award Winner

|

Walnut Creek, CA | June 3, 2021 – The National Apartment Association (NAA) has announced Sequoia as a winner of the 2021 NAA Best Places to Work Awards. This marks the second consecutive year in which Sequoia has received this honor, which recognizes member organizations that foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and hard work. Further, the awards pay tribute to management companies and industry suppliers that have gone above and beyond to create safe and engaging work environments despite the challenges of the past year.

"We are humbled and honored to be named one of the best in the industry,” said Nora Miller, Asst. Vice President of Human Resources at Sequoia. “It’s our mission to provide encouragement and tools for our team members to be a part of something bigger, and for two consecutive years, their feedback is that we are providing just that, a great place to work. We know our goal to create a supportive work environment that embraces change doesn’t stop here. We will continue to listen to our team members, to improve, and always stand behind what this award represents.”

Rita Crawford, Vice President of Portfolio Management at Sequoia, shares, “Being named a NAA Best Places to Work is more than just an award to hang on the wall, it serves as a constant reminder that what we do, and how we do it, matters. A reminder to always look for innovative and inspirational ways to encourage, support, and elevate our game.” Crawford adds, “We owe it to our team members to never stop working for them, to make their jobs more enjoyable and to allow each of us to reach new levels of growth, together.”

"Congratulations to Sequoia your 2021 NAA Best Places to Work award demonstrates your focus on employees, engagement and performance,” said Bob Pinnegar, NAA President and CEO. “Your employees made it clear —Sequoia cares about, listens to and acts upon the needs and ideas of their employees and is a great place to work. NAA appreciates your efforts in fostering a robust workplace culture and the hard work keeping your staff safe over the last year.”

With each nomination, organizations launched a very concise, yet insightful employee satisfaction survey based on the Net Promoter Scores (NPS), which is used to determine the winners and finalists for each of the six categories laid out by NAA. The anonymous results are then provided to all of the nominees to help the organization better understand their employee sentiment, make improvements, and set benchmarks for future performance.
