WALNUT CREEK, CA – Sequoia has been named a Bronze Honoree in the Real Estate category of the 15th Annual Shorty Awards for its recent campaign titled “Moments Happen at Sequoia”.
The Shorty Awards is an international award show that honors the very best of digital and social media by recognizing the most innovative and influential brands, agencies, organizations, and individuals whose work showcases excellence in digital storytelling. Winners and honorees were announced on May 24, 2023 at an in-person ceremony at Tribeca 360º in New York City, with over 300 attendees from all over the world.
Sequoia’s entry was one of the top in its category based on creativity, innovation, and strategy. The campaign was memorable and yielded positive business results across digital advertising platforms for Sequoia’s 80+ apartment communities. Some examples of the earned success were increased website traffic, an influx of new social media followers, and an uptick in social post engagement. As a result of their increased digital presence, the Sequoia portfolio saw positive results in leasing performance post-campaign.
"Our goal was to take our award-winning, in-person experience and have it translate into a creative and attention-grabbing video that both our customers and team members can relate to. We wanted to break the mold of multifamily videos centered around apartment features, community amenities, and the local neighborhood. Instead, our focus was to highlight our residents and how they transform our apartments into their homes where memories, big and small, are created daily,” says Justin Choi, Sequoia’s Sr. Director of Marketing. “It is an honor to be recognized amongst some of the world’s largest brands and content marketers. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists.”
Shorty Award winners and honorees are chosen by the Real Time Academy (RTA), prominent experts and leaders in digital and social media who have been hand-selected on the basis of their deep industry knowledge, professional reputation, and outstanding achievements, including previous Shorty wins.
Members of the Academy include Michelle Wong (CMO, Sprinkles), Angel Van Der Biest (Title Social Lead, Netflix), Ashley Rudder (Chief Creator Officer, Whalar), Jabari Hearn (Managing Partner, AKQA LA), Sophie Yan (Director, Cultural & Entertainment Advocacy, Everytown for Gun Safety), Gemini Babla (Director, Global Brand Marketing, YouTube), Dani Calogera (Vice President, Brand & Digital Marketing, SHOWTIME), Jay Norman (Global Head of Music Marketing, Spotify), among others.
