PAWS: Pet Appreciation With Sequoia

Sequoia Equities has long been dedicated to creating pet-friendly communities, recognizing the importance of pets in the lives of their residents. Through their Pet Appreciation with Sequoia (PAWS) program, they offer various initiatives to support pet owners and promote responsible pet ownership. One of the key features of the PAWS program is the reimbursement of adoption fees. Residents who adopt a dog or cat from a local shelter or humane society can receive up to $250 in reimbursement. To qualify, requests for reimbursement must be submitted within 90 days of adoption. This initiative not only encourages pet adoption but also helps pets find their forever homes. In addition to financial support, Sequoia has removed breed and weight restrictions across many of its communities. This inclusive policy ensures that all well-behaved pets, regardless of their breed or size, are welcome. By eliminating these restrictions, Sequoia aims to provide more housing options for pet owners who may have previously faced limited choices. To promote responsible pet ownership, Sequoia partners with innovative companies like PooPrints. This collaboration has effectively reduced and even eliminated un-scooped dog waste around the communities, keeping both pets and residents happier and healthier. Sequoia's commitment to pet-friendly living has been recognized with several awards. In 2024, they were honored with three prestigious recognitions at the Pets and Housing Awards by the Michelson Found Animals Foundation. These accolades highlight Sequoia's dedication to creating inclusive and welcoming environments for all residents and their furry companions. Through the PAWS program and other initiatives, Sequoia continues to elevate the everyday experiences of its residents by fostering communities where pets are truly appreciated and valued.
