How To Celebrate Pride Month Virtually

|

The month of June celebrates Pride Month, when LGBTQ communities come together to celebrate the freedom to be themselves. This month was chosen to pay tribute to the Stonewall uprising in June 1969 in New York City, which helped start the modern gay rights movement. Most Pride celebrations take place each year in June, but due to COVID-19, most events have been canceled. Because of this, you can now celebrate virtually all month long! Here at Sequoia we support the LGBTQ community and encourage our team members to be their true, authentic selves every day. We compiled a list of Virtual Pride Events that our teams, residents and customers can view from the comfort of their homes.

NYC Pride - NYC Pride has over 50 different events throughout the year to celebrate, but features special events during Pride Month. Tune in virtually on Youtube or Facebook live for different events like a Garden Party or a virtual 5K Art Run!

Global Pride - Global Pride will stream artists, campaigners, speeches, activists, public figures, and more for 24 hours on June 27th celebrating the beautiful diversity of people all over the world.

San Francisco Pride - SF Pride will be hosting a pre-recorded two day online celebration highlighting speakers, elected officials, performances, DJ sets, and more!

San Diego Pride - San Diego Pride is celebrated year round, but during Pride Month they have special events including Bingo, multiple 5K runs/walks, support groups, and more.

Together for Pride - This virtual three day event will be filled with speakers, performances, and activities hosted by Gender Justice League, PrideFest, and Seattle Pride. Each day will offer a full schedule with performance tracks to follow along with.

Portland Pride - The PNW Pride Parade is postponed until 2021, but there are still many virtual events to participate in. You can expect karaoke, virtual speakers, and more!
